This section of the Plan will cover where we want to go with infrastructure to accomplish the goals in Phases Two and Three. It is very important that we think down the road here for a good plan that will last for 3 years. It is also critical that we are purposeful in this area...we should not be purchasing the "coolest new stuff" out there unless we have shown where it fits in with the curriculum integration.
The backbone of infrastructure and support needs to be ready to accomodate new technology in the future years of the plan.

The first thing that has been done for this area is the development of a new Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for the DOY Staff. Next item to address-develop a new AUP for students, using the Staff AUP as a guide.
This committee will help look at AUPs and other policies that relate to technology for updating purposes. One key thing that we need to work on is a policy that incorporates Internet Safety for students and staff. We will provide materials for use with students for this area.
We will select other goals for Phase 3, as well as strategies to accomplish them.

The new Technology Plans will be in effect from July 1, 2013-June 30, 2016. Below is a tentative timeline for the creation of the new plans. Visit this page often as this will possibly change throughout the process.
Summer 2012-WorkFor Diocese Plan:
Summer 2012
Work with OCS next plan. Survey
Prepare document declaring "Draft Started" for file. Necessary for e-Rate compliance. This must be done and filed before e-Rate Form 470s can be filed
Begin Phase One- Identify committee, prepare meeting to get started on new Plan
October 3, 2012 Meet at Western Reserve Media to complete Phase One activities and come up with Goals to include in plan. Create wiki to post documents for tech planning.
Following October 3 meeting-Write Phase One of Plan (Jan and Lori). Once completed, begin working on Goals and Strategies for Phase Two of Plan. Work with OCS staff on Policies and Infrastructure, Phase Three and Four.
Post drafts of sections on wiki for committee feedback
Have committee complete surveys, guiding questions as necessary
Once draft is completed, get feedback from committee, OCS staff. Make final revisions
By late November-Send final Plan to Superintendent for approval and revisions. Make necessary changes and additions
Submit Tech Plan to Columbus for approval by early December
January 2013-Following approval, begin working with individual schools on their plans
May 1, 2013-All school plans due to OCS for approval. Revisions will be made by schools if necessary
July 1, 2013-All plans go into effect. Plans cover 3 years.

Once the Diocese Technology Plan for 2013-2015 is completed, it will be submitted to the Ohio approver for review and approval. Once buildingn plans are completed, they will be submitted to the Diocese approver, TBA.
